Pi Beta Phi, Fall 2017.
B.A. in Global Affairs with a European Studies Concentration
Out-of-state, off-campus student.
“When I went through formal recruitment, I had no idea what I was doing. I was the first in my family to go through recruitment, so I had no idea what to expect. I decided to just go through the experience to see what would happen. After the weekend was over I was ready to rest, unsure of what would happen next. It turns out that the result of the process would be receiving a bid to my top sorority, Pi Beta Phi.
When accepting my bid, I had no idea how important it would be to me, as it would shape my collegiate career. Then, the summer between my freshman and sophomore year, I attended the Undergraduate Interfraternity Institute (UIFI). This experience allowed me to learn from other leaders within the Greek community.
After leaving the conference, I wanted to do anything I could to help create positive change. Little did I know that when I accepted my bid that it would mean so much more than gaining membership to a sisterhood; it helped me to grow and realize what my true passion and purpose is in this world.”
